From Academy Award® nominated director Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), and based on the acclaimed semi-autobiographical novel, Miral is the story of a Palestinian girl coming of age amidst the war zone of the Israeli-Arab conflict -- unflinchingly told through the pe! rspective of Miral (Freida Pinto, Slumdog Millionaire) herself. Following the death of her troubled mother, Miral's father (Alexander Siddig) is forced to entrust her to the orphanage of Hind Husseini (Hiam Abbass), a woman whose commitment to peace through education has a profound impact on the maturing young woman as her epic journey to self-esteem and social consciousness proves both harrowing and hopeful. Also starring Willem Dafoe and Vanessa Redgrave.Working again with inventive cinematographer Eric Gautier (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), Julian Schnabel offers a distinctly Palestinian perspective on the birth of Israel. Arranging the narrative by characters, he starts in Jerusalem with Hind Husseini (The Visitor's Hiam Abbass), who opens a center in 1948 for Arab orphans, before flashing forward 19 years to introduce Nadia (Yasmine Al Massri), an abused alcoholic who does time for assault. Through a cellmate, Nadia meets Jamal (Cairo Time's ! Alexander Siddig), a devout Muslim who becomes her husband. Th! e story then advances 20 years to catch up with 17-year-old Miral (Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto). An extended (and confusing) flashback reveals Miral's connection to the two women, whose experiences shape her feelings about the intifada. Then, when Miral falls for Palestine Liberation Organization leader Hani (Munich's Omar Metwally), she becomes convinced she can benefit her people more through revolution than education, the path Hind encourages her to pursue, but then Hani disappears, the authorities bring her in for questioning, and she ends up in Ramallah, where Lisa (Schnabel's daughter, Stella), a Jewish family friend, further influences her thinking. By 1993, Miral (which means "red flower") figures out how she can best serve her heritage. With its excess of plot, journalist Rula Jebreal's adaptation of her semiautobiographical novel gets off to a slow start, but builds to a moving finish. If Pinto seems over her head, and if the Tom Waits material feels m! isplaced, Abbass and Siddig ground the film with performances of warmth and compassion. --Kathleen C. Multi-Touch
iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone.

Glide, Flick, Pinch
Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the Multi-Touch touchscreen interface lets you control everything using only you! r fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, fl! ick thro ugh photos and enlarge them with a pinch, zoom in and out on a section of a web page, and control game elements precisely.

How it Works
The Multi-Touch display layers a protective shield over a capacitive panel that senses your touch using electrical fields. It then transmits that information to the LCD screen below it. iPod touch software enables the flick, tap, and pinch.

Type with the Touchscreen Keyboard
iPod touch features an intelligent touchscreen keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, getting directions on a map, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, or adding new contacts. It analyzes keystrokes to suggest words as you type and correct spelling errors automatically. And because it's software based, it changes its keys to support typing in multiple languages.

iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks.

Accelerometer
iPod touch responds to motion using a built-in accelerometer.

Responds to Movement
iPod touch detects when you rotate it from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display. So you immediately see the entire width of a web page, view a photo in its proper aspect ratio, or control a game using only your movements.

How it Works
The accelerometer inside iPod touch uses three elements: a silicon mass, a set of silicon springs, and an electrical current. The silicon springs measure the position of the silicon mass using the electrical current. Rotating iPod touch! causes a fluctuation in the electrical current passing throug! h the si licon springs. The accelerometer registers these fluctuations and tells iPod touch to adjust the display accordingly.

Perfect for Gaming
Accelerometer technology really shines when you play games because it immerses you in the action. It's perfect for racing games--where your entire iPod touch acts as a steering wheel--and for tap-and-tilt games like Super Monkey Ball, in which your character responds to your every movement.

Wireless
Connect iPod touch to the Internet anywhere there's a wireless network.

Connect Automatically
iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks. If you've never used a particular network, it asks you to enter a password the first time, and it remembers the password from then on. So the next time you're within range, it connects automatically.

Surf's Up
Now you can send e! mail from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Shop for games from your couch. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hotspots in your area.

Tell Me Something

  • TELL ME SOMETHING TELMISSOMDING (DVD MOVIE)
Spring Days: Go Hyun-Jung (Sandglass), one of the original Korean TV drama megastars, returns after a ten-year hiatus for the eagerly anticipated mini-series Spring Days. With the combined star power of Go Hyun-Jung, plus Ji Jin-Hee (Dae Jang Geum, Love Letter) and Jo In-Sung (Something Happened in Bali), Spring Days is definitely not your ordinary K-drama series!

Loosely adapted from the popular Japanese drama, Heaven's Coins, Spring Days tells the gripping story of Suh Jung-Eun (Go Hyun-Jung), an elusive beauty who has suffered a trauma so great that she loses the will to speak. Go Eun-Ho (Ji Jin-Hee) is the doctor who helps Jung-Eun find a way to overcome her past. But just when her gratitude starts to blossom into love, fate cruelly intervenes, leaving Eun-Ho in a coma. At the hospital Jung-Eun meets Eun-Ho's stepbrother Eun-! Sup (Jo In-Sung), who is also a doctor. Despite his best intentions, Eun-Sup finds himself powerless to resist Jung-Eun. Latent rivalries and misunderstandings come to a boil as the two brothers vie for Jung-Eun's affection.

Featuring an all-star cast and a compelling story, Spring Days is a highly acclaimed 20-episode K-Drama for all seasons.

Someday: Hana Yamaguchi (Bae Doo-Na, The Host) is a successful young cartoonist. Although she writes romantic comics, she is analytical and pessimistic about love. Nicknamed the "Love Analyzer," Hana sees love as a simple biological response. But when her cartoon is discontinued, she sets off on a journey to discover what love really is. A Korean TV drama with a touch of animation, Someday tells the story of three people's journey into the crazy world of love.

The first Korean drama to integrate animation and live action, Someday is like no drama that has come before. Through outstanding c! inematography and visual design, this groundbreaking drama bea! utifully lenses Korea's contemporary urban landscape and peeks into the moody, imaginative world of a comic book artist. Written by movie screenwriter Kim Hee Jae (Hanbando), a "movie-like drama" with top-end production values, Someday features film star Bae Du Na (The Host), drama favorite Kim Min Joon (Lovers in Prague, Damo), and rising stars Lee Jin Wook and Oh Yoon Ah from Alone in Love. In contrast with its fanciful images, the drama stays candid and grounded in its exploration of modern relationships and romance, presenting a story that is both painfully realistic and longingly lighthearted.

Although Korean-Japanese cartoonist Yamaguchi Hana (Bae Du Na) has found great success with her romantic comic books, she herself doesn't believe in love. Raised by her grandmother, she is content to live in her own world of writing and drawing, but one day her comic gets discontinued. Unceremoniously thrown back into the real world, Hana travels to Seoul where she meets Kim S! eok Man (Lee Jin Wook), a kind-hearted private investigator with a tragic past, and Go Jin Pyo (Kim Min Joon), a doctor and ardent comic fan who observes life with a detached eye. As Hana retraces the tragic love story of her elderly neighbors with Seok Man and Jin Pyo's help, she realizes that she herself is experiencing love for the first time.

Handsome advertising executive Tomas "Papi" Fuentes (Eduardo Verastegui) is truly, deeply in love?with three gorgeous women in three different cities. There's prim-and-proper Patricia (Jaci Velasquez) in New York, lovely Lorena (Roselyn Sanchez) in Chicage, and spicy Cici (Sofia Vergara) in Miami. But when all three arrive in L.A. to surprise Papi at home, the situation doesn't just heat up, it explodes! Filled with beautiful bodies, hip Latin rhythms and plenty of passion, Chasing Papi will leave you cheering!A breezy ex! ercise in "Latina Lib," Chasing Papi is a premarital variant of The First Wives Club, with enough jiggle to compete with Charlie's Angels and Victoria's Secret. The sexy fun begins when well-meaning Latino lover Tomás (Eduardo Verastegui) is confronted by the three girlfriends he's been wooing while traveling on business: Miami cocktail waitress Cici (Sofia Vergara), New York heiress Patricia (Jaci Velasquez), and Chicago attorney Lorena (Roselyn Sanchez) have discovered Tomás's infidelity, and they're primed for payback. Their romantic revenge involves a contrived subplot of drug money, inept criminals, and a gorgeous FBI agent (Lisa Vidal), but it's the allied girlfriends who steal this dim-witted fashion show. The female costars (all veterans of Spanish-language soap operas) are smart, sassy, and incredibly attractive, and director Linda Mendoza (herself a TV graduate, making her feature debut) keeps the comedy on an even, good-natured keel. The la! ughs are sporadic at best, but Chasing Papi is a bubbly! babe-fe st that either gender can appreciate. --Jeff ShannonIts been 24 days since tom found out that his life was ruined by a previous encounter with dan. 24 days since he decided dan would have to pay. Jane Fonda's Workout Book

  • exercises explained and illustrated by a celebrity

In this inspiring and candid book, Jane Fonda, #1 bestselling author, actress, and workout pioneer, gives us a blueprint for living well and for making the most of life, especially the second half of it. Covering sex, love, food, fitness, self-understanding, spiritual and social growth, and your brain. In Prime Time, she offers a vision for successful living and maturing, A to Z.

Highlighting new research and stories from her own life and from the lives of others, Jane Fonda explores how the critical years from 45 and 50, and especially from 60 and beyond, can be times when we truly become the energetic, loving, fulfilled people we were meant to be. Covering the 11 key ingredients for vital living, Fonda invites you to consider with her how to live a more insightful, healthy, and fully integrated life, a life lived more profo! undly in touch with ourselves, our bodies, minds, and spirits, and with our talents, friends, and communities.

In her research, Fonda discovered two metaphors, the arch and the staircase, that became for her two visions of life. She shows how to see your life the staircase way, as one of continual ascent. She explains how she came to understand the earlier decades of her life by performing a life review, and she shows how you can do a life review too. She reveals how her own life review enabled her to let go of old patterns, to see what means the most to her, and then to cultivate new goals and dreams, to make the most of the mature years. For there has been a longevity revolution, and the average human life expectancy has jumped by years. Fonda asks, what we are meant to do with this precious gift of time? And she writes about how we can navigate the fertile voids that life periodically presents to us. She makes suggestions about exercise (including three key movem! ents for optimal health), diet (how to eat by color), meditati! on, and how learning new things and creating fresh pathways in your brain can add quality to your life. Fonda writes of positivity, and why many people are happier in the second half of their lives than they have ever been before.

What I did not anticipate was how my journey would also resonate with men.”!

See more Fonda DVDsBosworth goes behind the image of an American superwoman, revealing Fondaâ€"more powerful and vulnerable than ever expectedâ€"whose struggles for high achievement, love, and successful motherhood mirror the conflicts of a generation of women.

As actress, activist, businesswoman, wife, and mother, Jane Fonda has pushed herself to the limit, attempting to please all, excel in every arena, be everything. We’ve read her version of her controversial life, yet nothing can prepare us for this genuinely revelatory account of Jane’s engrossing, sometimes shocking journey.

Supplemented by the psychiatric records of her suicidal, bipolar mother, Fonda’s FBI file, and interviews with her intimates, this percepti! ve portrait strips away hype and the subject’s own mythmaking. Patricia Bosworth shows us what a toll Jane’s quest to excel (and please her demanding father, Henry) exacted and sheds light on truths she’s glossed over: her rejection of her mother before her suicide; the death threats and self-doubts of her antiwar crusade; her second husband Tom Hayden’s habit of putting her down while spending her fortune; the emotional downfall that led her to stop acting and marry Ted Turner.

Lee Strasberg once said that Jane had "panic in her eyes," and it is this wounded but so familiar womanâ€"human yet still heroic, the embodiment of a generation’s conflicts and triumphsâ€"whom Bosworth captures so utterly and definitively.
